A total of 17 student teams from 13 high schools across southern Alberta have been spending the past four weeks weighing whether they should buy gold, treasury bills or stocks in fictitious companies as they try to build their portfolios in the lead-up to the third annual Dhillon School of Business High School Finance Competition.

The University of Lethbridge Mace Program will visit a variety of schools this spring, educating students about the U of L’s Convocation and its associated traditions and symbols.
Chief Marshal Dr. Olu Awosoga, dressed in full regalia, will speak to students about the history of the mace and how it fits into the annual Convocation ceremonies. Students will then have the opportunity to don white gloves and hold the mace, which has been used in U of L Convocation ceremonies since being dedicated in 1988.

With more space exploration and possible colonization on the horizon, a group of international researchers, including the University of Lethbridge’s Dr. Olga Kovalchuk, combined forces to produce a roadmap to enhancing human radioresistance, or the level of radiation an organism is able to withstand. The group recently published a paper exploring the subject in the peer-reviewed journal Oncotarget.
