The University of Lethbridge Mace Program will visit a variety of schools this spring, educating Grade 6 students about the U of L’s Convocation and its associated traditions and symbols. Chief Marshal Dr. Olu Awosoga, dressed in full regalia, will speak to students about the history of the mace and how it fits into the annual Convocation ceremonies. Students will then have the opportunity to don white gloves and hold the mace, which has been used in U of L Convocation ceremonies since being dedicated in 1988. On Friday, April 12, 2019, the Dhillon School of Business celebrated its annual Scholarship Dinner by honouring Ralph A. Thrall III and the McIntyre Ranch. The event brought in $30,000 for the Ralph Thrall McIntyre Ranch Scholarship Fund and a scholarship from this fund will be given out to a Dhillon School of Business student each year at the University of Lethbridge.

A research project led by a University of Lethbridge undergraduate has revealed evidence of an evolutionary relationship between migration and vocal duetting in birds. Vocal duets occur when a mated pair of birds sings together. The study, which is the first to describe the evolution of duetting in a family of birds known as warblers, shows that duetting co-evolved with the absence of migration.
