ART NOW - Jean-Francois Prost Speaks November 19th, 2014 at Noon

JEAN-FRANÇOIS PROST, artist who has studied architecture and environmental design; he has a keen interest in new urban research territories – neglected, undetermined spaces (and situations), and those overcontrolled, sterile, with no apparent specificity. In Prost's work, art is an act of resistance, a state of mind, a device to enunciate and exchange ideas. It activates and promotes social engagement, defends the presence of art everywhere and at anytime.

Kevin Kelly is an art professor at the University of Manitoba. His comical works are both ridiculous and erotic. He will present his new animation pieces that focus on Bangalore, Beijing, Montreal, and Winnipeg. These high strung psycho tropes promise a future of kinetic monuments and structures.  Although he was trained primarily as a painter his work takes form in a broad range of media.
