Today, the University of Lethbridge kicks off its celebration of Pride Month, and as we raise the Pride Flag and bring conversations on inclusivity into the forefront, it’s important to remember this isn’t about one day, one month or even one year. Condolence Notice - Dr. Masao Morimoto

The University of Lethbridge offers its deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Dr. Masao Morimoto, Chairman of the Board of Governors at Hokkai-Gakuen University, who passed away at the age of 89 on June 1, 2021, in Sapporo, Japan.

Morimoto, who was awarded a doctor of laws, honoris causa, from the U of L in 1989, was an inspirational leader and unwavering advocate for the Hokkai-Gakuen and University of Lethbridge partnership since its inception in 1981.

Condolence Notice — Dr. Aziz Choudry

The University of Lethbridge was saddened to learn of the recent passing of Dr. Aziz Choudry and extends its sincere condolences to his former colleagues, friends and family.

Choudry became an associate member of the U of L’s School of Graduate Studies on April 1, 2021 and was serving as a committee member for a Master of Arts student. He recently became a visiting professor at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa and before that, had been an associate professor at McGill University since 2008.
