Project Sandbox: Library Technology Workshops & Presentations: Fall 2018

PROJECT SANDBOX: Socializing - Innovating - Collaborating

Project Sandbox is an ongoing examination of the enhancement of student learning through providing tools, space, collaborative opportunities and education. The intent of this project is to come away with answers to users’ needs/wants and how to establish a space that is given value through the input of the people that use it.

Library Intersession Hours: August 29 – September 4

During the intersession period between the summer and fall semesters (August 29 – September 4), the Library's hours will be as follows:

  • August 29 – 31 (Wednesday – Friday): 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • September 1 – 3 (Saturday – Monday): CLOSED
  • September 4 (Tuesday): 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The fall semester hours of operation will start Wednesday, September 5. For a complete overview of Library hours, click here.

Research Data Management: The Basics

What do you do with your research data? Whether it’s qualitative or quantitative, having a sound plan to manage your research data is important, and it will strengthen your grant applications. Learn the basics of research data management, including an overview of the U of L Data Management Plan Assistant and other resources that can help guide you through the process. The last 20 minutes or so will be a workshop, so bring a laptop with you for some hands-on experience!

Library Games Night: Summer Edition!

The University Library will be hosting its Library Games Night and you are invited!

Students, staff, and faculty are welcome to join us for game-playing of all kinds: board, card, and video! Students challenge your professors, professors challenge your students!

  • DAY: Thursday, July 19
  • TIME: 5 to 9 p.m.
  • WHERE: Library (Level 10 North)

Bring your own (non-alcoholic) beverages and snacks.
