The Department of Geography presents Dr. Scott Heckbert "Data to Decision: Environmental modelling and community-based monitoring"

This presentation will demonstrate applications in environmental modelling and community-based monitoring. The intention of the talk is to provide an overview of past and current work of the presenter, for the purposes of finding common points of interest with the Department of Geography. On the topic of environmental modelling, simulations of land use change and hydrology will be presented, with a focus on the use of models as exploratory virtual labs with stakeholders using 3D technologies.

City fines University of Lethbridge over 'Brian Sullivan Hill'

In an unprecedented move, the City of Lethbridge has taken action against the largest employer in the city for failing to comply with the city bylaw governing unsightly premises.

Bylaw 5630, or the Unsightly Premises Bylaw, states that properties must be maintained in a consistent manner to those within a one-block radius. City Manager Bramwell Strain explained the situation in an afternoon press conference.
