Digging into Open Data: Canada’s Open Government Portals

Open data is a growing movement where organizations, especially government, release data – much of which is location data -- to the public free of charge through open government portals. Users can visit these websites to search for and download relevant datasets which are then typically imported into a software application for analysis. Librarian Rhys Stevens will provide guidance about how to find and make use of open data using examples from several Canadian portals.

Library 24-hour Study available October 4

The University Library’s 24-hour study space will be available after staffed hours starting Monday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m.

The space on level 10 north of the Library can be accessed via the Library’s main entrance during staffed hours. The 24-hour space will be accessible after hours via the sliding doors to the left of the entrance.
