U of L’s astrophysicists receive federal infrastructure grant

Thanks to a $250,000 grant from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) for research infrastructure, University of Lethbridge astrophysicists will develop a state-of-the-art cryogenic test facility to evaluate the performance of instruments destined for space exploration.

U of L scientists receive two New Frontiers in Research awards

Two innovative University of Lethbridge projects will bring together expertise from different fields to bring new light to promising research thanks to Exploration grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council’s (SSHRC) New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF). “When only 20 per cent of applications for NFRF grants were successful across the country, having two come to our institution demonstrates that our researchers are advancing the frontiers of knowledge and creative activity,” says Dr. Robert Wood, interim vice-president (research).

Max Bell Regional Aquatic Centre to reopen with limitations on Monday, August 10

Solid percentage of University of Lethbridge students coming to community for Fall 2020 semester

Despite a primarily online format for the fall semester, many University of Lethbridge students are planning to return to Lethbridge in September. A recent survey conducted by Academica Group polled responses from continuing students at Canadian post-secondary institutions on whether they would be attending their school’s city for the Fall 2020 semester. U of L students responded favorably, with 60.7 per cent of returning students expected to be in the city in September — approximately 3,800 students in total.
