Advisory — University of Lethbridge officially reopening Community Sports Stadium turf for community use

The University of Lethbridge recently completed a $911,000 renovation of the Community Sports Stadium by replacing the 12-year-old turf with new FieldTurf. The new surface enhances the playability of the stadium, bringing it in line with Canadian Football League and National Football League stadiums across North America. Research study to focus on the environmental impacts of effluent release

Around the world, people use wetlands to help treat wastewater. University of Lethbridge researchers will look to better understand how these complex systems work by studying the Frank Lake wetland and its watershed near High River, Alberta. With base funding from Cargill Limited and matching funds from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada Alliance program totalling approximately $1.5 million, the research team will embark on a five-year project.

Marking a stellar career as a researcher and professor, Dr. Robert Sutherland has been named winner of the 2022 Donald O. Hebb Distinguished Contribution Award by the Canadian Society for Brain, Behaviour & Cognitive Science (CSBBCS). The award recognizes those who’ve made a significant contribution to the study of brain, behaviour and cognitive science through their research, training of others and leadership in the field. Donald Hebb is often called the father of neuroscience for the way he merged psychology with neuroscience.
