Advisory — Truth and Reconciliation Week garners campus focus

Friday, September 22, 2023

Please join the University of Lethbridge campus community in honouring Truth and Reconciliation Week, Sept. 25-28, and specifically the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Saturday, Sept. 30.

From September 25-28, University of Lethbridge (Iniskim) will honour Truth and Reconciliation Week. This is a time to learn and reflect on how ULethbridge, as an institution, and each of us, as individuals, will address and answer the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.

One of the key events of the week takes place Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 11:30 a.m., in the University Hall Atrium with the Iniskim Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action Challenge launch. This important event is designed to engage the campus community in personal actions that will foster reconciliation on campus and within the community.

There will be no classes and University offices will be closed on Friday, Sept. 29 to allow space for reflection. The University’s decision to observe this day is consistent with the ULethbridge commitment to indigenization, and specifically the Truth and Reconciliation process.
