Hockey players Kristen Reeves and Dan Iwanski were named Subway Pronghorn Athletes of the Week Tuesday after strong performances against the University of British Columbia.
Freshman forward Reeves continued her torrid scoring pace for the Pronghorn women's hockey team as they cruised to a two-game sweep of the T-Birds.
On Friday night, in the 'Horns' 4-0 shutout win, Reeves scored once and added two assists to lead the way. She also registered a game high seven shots on goal. In the 'Horns' 4-1 win the next night, Reeves scored again and registered another seven shots on goal.
Through 14 games, Reeves leads all Canada West rookies in scoring with 6 goals and 4 assists.
On the men's side, Iwanski was an offensive catalyst for the Horns, despite a pair of losses on the west coast.
Iwanski was involved in four of the five goals the 'Horns scored in the two games, picking up a pair of assists on Friday night and adding two goals on Saturday night as the Horns dropped 5-2 and 7-3 decisions.
Iwanski sits second on team scoring through the first semester, scoring four goals and adding seven assists in 14 games.
