Why Join the Pilot Mentorship Initiative?

The Canadian Remote Sensing Society (CRSS-SCT) is launching a pilot mentorship initiative during the 46th Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing in Lethbridge, Alberta. This volunteer-based initiative connects Students and Young Professionals (SYPs) with experienced professionals for valuable guidance, networking, and career insights.

Are you an experienced remote sensing professional looking to give back to the community? Do you want to inspire, support, and mentor emerging professionals in the field? Join our pilot mentorship initiative and make a lasting impact!

Benefits of Becoming a Mentor:

How It Works:

🔹 Eligibility: Open to professionals with a master’s degree or higher and ≥10 years of remote sensing-related career experience. Other equivalent credentials may also qualify.


🔹 Mentorship Format:

  • Small group mentorship sessions (1 mentor for ~2–4 mentees)
  • One-on-one mentorship available if enough mentors participate
    🔹 How to Sign Up:
  • When registering for the Symposium: Select the option "Are you interested in learning about and participating in our pilot mentorship initiative".
  • You’ll receive a follow-up email with a short questionnaire for mentor-mentee matching
    🔹 Meet Your Mentees:
  • Sessions will be scheduled directly between mentors and mentees during the symposium

  • When registering for the Symposium: Select the option "Are you interested in learning about and participating in our pilot mentorship initiative".

Building a Long-Term Mentorship Program

This pilot mentorship initiative is part of a larger effort to develop an ongoing mentorship program within the Canadian Remote Sensing Society (CRSS-SCT).
