Advisory — University of Lethbridge ready to welcome students for Fall 2026 Semester
The rental market is churning, the grocery store aisles are bustling and Lethbridge’s pubs and eateries are alive with activity — University of Lethbridge students are streaming into southern Alberta, and the community is readying to welcome them back.
With the first day of classes set for Wednesday, Sept. 9, a host of activities will be taking place at ULethbridge as new and returning students alike make their way to campus.
“The start of a new semester is always invigorating for everyone on campus. We’re thrilled to welcome students back and I think everybody is energized by the excitement they bring,” says Kathleen Massey, vice-provost (students). “That also extends to the entire community. The contributions our students make to Lethbridge and southern Alberta are immense, socially, culturally and economically. It’s great to have them back.”
Students will begin moving into campus residence buildings on Monday; new students will be welcomed to post-secondary life through Tuesday’s New Student Orientation activities; and classes get underway on Wednesday.
Media are invited to attend campus and speak with event organizers who are there to assist new, returning and graduate students as they prepare to kick off the new semester.
Residence Move-in
Monday, Sept. 7
• First move-in times begin at 8:30 a.m. and will continue throughout the day in a prescheduled format to ease traffic through the buildings

Tuesday, Sept. 8 — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• President’s Welcome — 9 to 9:45 a.m., Co-op Centre for Sport & Wellness
• Campus Service Tours — 10 a.m. to noon — Current students take the lead in showing off campus and all it has to offer new students
• Buffet Lunch — Noon to 1 p.m.
• Faculty Orientation Sessions — 1 to 3 p.m. — Chance for new students to hear from faculty and staff who will support them through their academic journey
• ULSU NSO Wrap-Up Fest — 2 to 5 p.m. — Food, music, games and entertainment provided by the University of Lethbridge Students’ Union
