Dr. Moty Moravvej is a finance instructor at the Dhillon School of Business, University of Lethbridge, with a strong academic and professional focus on applications of technology in Finance.

Her work spans key areas such as fintech, cryptocurrencies, market microstructure, and cross-border payment systems, reflecting a deep interest in how emerging technologies are reshaping financial markets and infrastructure. 

Alongside her academic research, Moty brings practical industry experience in financial consulting, technology implementation, and capital markets. Her interdisciplinary background, combining finance and software engineering, enables her to bridge technical innovation with real-world financial applications.

Moty is passionate about education and advancing knowledge in digital finance, contributing to both academic research and teaching that prepares the next generation of professionals for the future of financial systems.


Biography


Dr. Moty Moravvej began her career in software engineering, developing solutions for stock markets and clearing and settlement systems, before developing a strong interest in capital markets and pursuing advanced studies in finance. Her PhD research explores the application of distributed ledger technologies (DLT) for cross-border clearing and settlement, reflecting her broader interest in the intersection of technology, finance, and regulation/policy making.
