Vancouver Chamber Choir on Tour

Monday, Feb. 25, 7:30 to 10 p.m., Southminster United Church

The Vancouver Chamber Choir will join the U of L Singers and the SWATCA (South Western Alberta Teachers’ Convention Association) Honours Choir for an evening of choral offerings.

Finance Industry Evening

Thursday, Feb. 28, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Markin Hall Atrium

This free evening gives students, faculty and industry representatives the chance to network, participate in a custom finance simulation, enjoy dinner and hear from Jefferson Gardner, a certified blockchain expert and entrepreneur. Gardner will talk about new technologies like blockchain, why they are an essential part of the digital evolution and how they will help take finance to new levels.

PUBlic Professor Series | The Geography of Circumstance

Thursday, Feb. 28, 7 to 9 p.m., Sandman Signature Lethbridge Lodge, 320 Scenic Dr. S.

Join Dr. Tom Johnston, a geography professor, as he explores the ways geographic location, both absolute and relative, plays a role in shaping the future and helps explain the past and present. Every geographic location has associated constraints and opportunities that are specific to time and place. Johnston’s key message is that geography matters.

Indigenous Awareness Days

Friday, March 1, noon to Friday, March 15, 5 p.m., various locations

A variety of activities have been organized to celebrate Indigenous culture, including a prayer offering, resource fair, a KAIROS blanket exercise, a beading workshop, a panel discussion, and a talk about Indigenizing the classroom and smudging. Keys to Piano Workshop

Friday, March 1, 5 p.m. to Saturday, March 2, 4:30 p.m., Casa, 2230 8 St. S.

The U of L Conservatory of Music, in collaboration with the Lethbridge Registered Music Teachers’ Association, is hosting a workshop open to any piano student or teacher. The workshop includes masterclasses, break-out sessions and a special performance by the clinicians.
