After receiving international attention, two University of Lethbridge studies that explored the potential for certain cannabis extracts to be used as additional therapies to combat COVID-19 have undergone peer review and have now been published in Aging, a top, open-access, bio-medical journal.

Blue Monday is generally regarded as the most depressing day of the year and marked on the third Monday of January — this year being Monday, January 18. The combination of now due Christmas expenses, the heart of winter weather and the acquisition of excess pounds over the holiday break create what many see as a time when our mental health faces its greatest challenges. Add in the difficulty of the COVID-19 pandemic and this time of year may seem even more bleak.

Between three and 20 per cent of pregnant women in Canada develop gestational diabetes mellitus, or GDM, and the health of both the mother and her developing child can be negatively affected if left untreated.

Bibby has been charting the God numbers through national surveys from the mid-1970s to December of this year.

People will be looking up to the heavens Monday evening hoping to catch a glimpse of the Christmas star — the great conjunction that will make Jupiter and Saturn appear very close together in the southwestern sky a few hours after sunset.
On Monday, Dec. 21, Jupiter and Saturn will share the same celestial longitude and appear to pass each other in the sky in what’s known as a great conjunction, because these are two largest planets in our solar system. Jupiter has an orbital period of approximately 12 years while Saturn’s is about 30 years.
