Local nursing education program achieves accreditation

The Nursing Education in Southwestern Alberta (NESA) program, delivered collaboratively by Lethbridge College and the University of Lethbridge, has met national standards for nursing schools and obtained accreditation by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN). The NESA program has always been an approved program at the provincial level. CASN accreditation means the program has met the national standards for nursing programs across Canada.

University preparing to celebrate new graduates at Fall 2016 Convocation ceremony

The University of Lethbridge is excited to celebrate the hard work and achievements of its newest group of graduates at the Fall 2016 Convocation ceremony, scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. The U of L will award a total of 240 degrees, diplomas and certificates at the ceremony, with close to 200 students expected to participate in person. The public is welcome to join the festivities, either in person or by watching the streaming version at http://new.livestream.com/uleth/events.

Chemotherapy research program earns Anna Kovalchuk esteemed Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship

University of Lethbridge seeking honorary degree nominations for 50th anniversary year

The list of past honorees includes a who’s-who of astronauts, premiers, international entertainers, world renowned scientists, authors and more, and with the University of Lethbridge approaching its 50th anniversary, nominations are being sought for a particularly distinguished group to be recognized with honorary degrees in 2017. The call is out for nominations to be submitted to the U of L Senate by November 1, 2016 for the Spring 2017 and Fall 2017 honorees.

WHAT: Light Up Purple campaign marking World Mental Health Day 2016 WHEN: Tuesday, October 11, 2016, all day WHERE: Throughout campus The University of Lethbridge will be marking World Mental Health Day 2016 by participating in the Light Up Purple campaign. Created by the Amanda Todd Legacy Society, the campaign is designed to spread the colour purple as an effort to raise awareness of the stigma of mental health and the impacts of bullying on youth. Some of the activities planned to take place on campus include:
