Identity theft is a nightmare that nobody wishes to endure, and yet it is one of the fastest growing crimes in Canada.

Word has spread about the Cor Van Raay Agribusiness Case Competition co-hosted by Lethbridge College and the University of Lethbridge. This year, 54 post-secondary students registered to participate in the two-day event Friday and Saturday.

The University of Lethbridge’s research excellence and commitment to the student experience continue to solidify its place as one of the country’s top universities as recognized by Maclean’s 2017 University Rankings. For the fifth consecutive year, the U of L was ranked third in the Primarily Undergraduate category, a classification of 19 universities from across the country.

The University of Lethbridge Board of Governors appointed three Tier II Board of Governors Research Chairs recently, rewarding outstanding faculty members who are committed to excellence in graduate student training and who possess outstanding records of attracting highly qualified personnel. Drs. Richelle Marynowski (education), D. Andrew Stewart (fine arts) and Suzanne Lenon (women & gender studies) have been appointed to three-year terms as put forward by the Office of the Vice-President Research.

Innovation in family and small business in southern Alberta received a major boost today as RBC pledged $750,000 to the University of Lethbridge’s AGILITY program and the Dhillon School of Business. The gift specifically supports programs and initiatives within a new family business and small business stream of AGILITY, a program focused on helping students develop skills in innovation and entrepreneurial thinking.
