Three U of L professors elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Canada

Students to highlight summer research at symposium

The Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience (CCBN) has been a hub of research over the summer as students have studied questions about jet lag, paternal preconception alcohol exposure, the effects of chronic exposure to THC in adolescence and the effects of disrupted circadian rhythms. Now that the summer is drawing to a close, 16 summer research students will present their work at the annual CCBN Summer Student Symposium on Thursday in front of a panel of judges for the chance to win an award.

Young researcher summer program looks to expand through transition

Universities in Alberta will be taking over the popular Heritage Youth Researcher Summer (HYRS) program from Alberta Innovates Health Solutions (AIHS) during a three-year transition period. “Now, the University of Lethbridge, the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary are all picking up the program and running it internally,” says Brett Weighill, a University of Lethbridge student and HYRS program co-ordinator. “And yet we’ve still been able to increase our intake this year to provide more students with this opportunity.”
