For the vast majority of Canadians, the concept of not having readily available drinking water is literally foreign – something only developing countries have to face. Unfortunately, residents of rural and remote communities, many of which are indigenous, face the problem of trying to find potable water every day of their lives.

WHAT: The University of Lethbridge and Pronghorn Athletics are proud to dedicate a statue donated by former Pronghorns track and field coach and southern Alberta athletics icon George Gemer (LLD ’11). Remembrance Day was created as a way to commemorate members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty and those who continue to serve Canada in times of war and peace. The date, Nov. 11, also marks the time when fighting stopped in the First World War. The University of Lethbridge will join over 100 countries around the globe in celebrating International Education Week (IEW) Nov. 6-10, 2017 with a host of performances, demonstrations, lectures, films and assorted activities.
