Advisory — Faculty of Education Design Day Challenge to examine teacher and student well-being

Media are invited to interview participating Master of Education students and organizer Dr. David Slomp at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16 in the Science Commons Atrium (Level 7) Master of Education students at the University of Lethbridge will team up to tackle this year’s challenge centred around teacher well-being and how to structure educational systems and organizations to promote teacher well-being and student learning.

Dr. Gerlinde Metz, a University of Lethbridge neuroscientist, Dr. Gerald Giesbrecht from the University of Calgary and Dr. David Olson from the University of Alberta have received a One Child Every Child Strategic Catalyst Award worth $50,000 to look at maternal social isolation as a risk factor for adverse pregnancy outcomes and developmental trajectories in their offspring.

Indeed, it is unique to have two significant post-secondary institutions located within a city of 100,000 people. University of Lethbridge nursing students help establish a new wellness partnership

University of Lethbridge third-year nursing students helped create a partnership between Medical Mercy Canada and the Blood Tribe Department of Health as part of their community health initiative earlier this spring. Medical Mercy Canada provides medical supply donations to various countries worldwide, such as wound-care necessities and medical equipment.
