U of L researchers receive nearly $4 million in NSERC Discovery grants

A crop of University of Lethbridge researchers are recipients of close to $4 million in new grants payable over multiple years through the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada’s Discovery research program.

U of L’s 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport & Wellness to reopen with limitations on July 13

As the University of Lethbridge works toward a gradual and safe reopening of its facilities, Horns Recreation is pleased to announce the 1st Choice Savings Centre will reopen on Monday, July 13 in a limited capacity. “We look forward to welcoming our members back to our facilities,” says Bill Halma, director of Horns Recreation. “To ensure the health and safety of everyone involved, we will be operating in a much different manner.”

Pandemic underlines need to revamp academic system that disadvantages parenting researchers and women

Partnership gives U of L student one-of-a-kind learning opportunity

A partnership between API (Applied Pharmaceutical Innovation) and the University of Lethbridge led to a unique training opportunity for one graduate student. Amy Henrickson (BSc ’17) started her master’s in January, working under the supervision of Dr. Borries Demeler, a professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, in the Canadian Center for Hydrodynamics. She’s focusing her work on adeno-associated viruses (AAVs).
