In a first for the U of L, a religious studies scholar wins a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship

Dr. Shayne Dahl (BA ’07), who was a sessional instructor in the University of Lethbridge’s Department of Religious Studies until the end of April, has been awarded a prestigious Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship, one of only 70 awarded across Canada and a first for the U of L. The two-year fellowship worth $140,000 provides funding to postdoctoral fellows who will positively contribute to the country’s economic, social and research-based growth.

U of L appoints its first executive director of equity, diversity and inclusion

Personal experience, a journey in internationalization, an academic interest driven by curiosity and a desire to influence meaningful change have marked a journey that has brought Martha Mathurin-Moe to the University of Lethbridge as the first Executive Director, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). The University of Lethbridge recently held its first ever Oral History Summer Institute (OHSI), an opportunity open to anyone interested in oral history, from family historians and genealogists to community organizers and students. As part of the Faculty of Arts & Science rollout of courses geared toward continuing education and professional development, participants learned about oral history methods and theories, heard from practising oral historians and got hands-on experience in workshop and feedback sessions.
