As the start of the Fall 2021 semester approaches, the University of Lethbridge is eager to welcome students, faculty and staff back to campus after nearly 18 months of largely remote class delivery and working from home. “I’m looking forward to seeing everybody back and welcoming them to a community whose members support each other to create a healthy and safe environment for all, so we can enjoy the experience the University of Lethbridge is known for,” says Kathleen Massey, associate vice-president students.

Dr. Shayne Dahl (BA ’07), who was a sessional instructor in the University of Lethbridge’s Department of Religious Studies until the end of April, has been awarded a prestigious Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship, one of only 70 awarded across Canada and a first for the U of L. The two-year fellowship worth $140,000 provides funding to postdoctoral fellows who will positively contribute to the country’s economic, social and research-based growth.

Personal experience, a journey in internationalization, an academic interest driven by curiosity and a desire to influence meaningful change have marked a journey that has brought Martha Mathurin-Moe to the University of Lethbridge as the first Executive Director, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).
