Media Advisory - Registration open for fifth annual Let’s DO Science Day

Friday, April 15, 2016

High school students from across southern Alberta will participate in a variety of science activities at the University of Lethbridge on April 27. Let’s DO Science Day will be filled with numerous fun, hands-on science activities for enthusiastic students, exposing them to several different streams of science and encouraging them to think about potential careers and futures in post-secondary education.

The students will engage in an array of activities exposing them to state-of-the-art scientific problems and procedures, challenging their scientific knowledge. Among other activities, students will have the chance to investigate odorant compounds in a chemistry activity, learn about illusions and how reflection and diffraction can trick our perceptions, dissect sheep brains in neuroscience and learn about decision making and social influence in psychology.

The event will take place on Wednesday, April 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the U of L. To register, please visit outreach.letstalkscience.ca/uleth and submit completed registration packages to ltslethbridge@gmail.com by Tuesday, April 19.
