Advisory — University of Lethbridge to raise the Progress Pride Flag

Media are invited to attend the event on Tuesday, June 24, at 11 a.m.

The University of Lethbridge proudly stands alongside the 2SLGBTQ+ community to celebrate Pride Month.

Pride Month celebrates the strength, resilience and diversity of the 2SLGBTQ+ communities and recognizes the achievements of queer and trans individuals and groups. This year’s theme is Building Resilience Through Community and Collaboration, which reminds us to harness our collective strength to create safe spaces of belonging.

As part of this year’s flag-raising, ULethbridge will announce the recipient of the VandenHoek Schlachter Pride Award, which provides support for 2SLGBTQ+ students and those who advance equity and inclusion for 2SLGBTQ+ communities and individuals. The award was established in 2023 thanks to a generous donation from two ULethbridge alumni — Kurt Schlachter (BSc ’00, LLD ’24) and Jason VandenHoek (BMgt ’05).
