Thursday, November 9, 2017

WHAT: The University of Lethbridge and Pronghorn Athletics are proud to dedicate a statue donated by former Pronghorns track and field coach and southern Alberta athletics icon George Gemer (LLD ’11).

WHEN: Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 2 p.m.

WHERE: Southwest corner of Students’ Union Patio (bus loop area), University of Lethbridge.

George Gemer (LLD ’11) was an educator and coach of track and field and fencing at the U of L for 47 years. Out of gratitude for the opportunity, he and his late wife Carole Gemer conceived, designed and donated a statue that has been installed and will be commemorated near the 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport and Wellness in the U of L’s 50th Anniversary year.

Gemer, his family and friends, and supporters of Pronghorn Athletics will participate in a short installation ceremony at the statue site.
