Advisory — Student researchers in the spotlight at final stage of Three Minute Thesis competition
The 10 finalists have been identified and now it’s time to determine the winners of the annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition.
Three Minute Thesis is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland that challenges higher degree students to present a compelling oration on their research thesis and its significance in just three minutes in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Its aim is to hone young researchers’ skills in knowledge translation.
Some of the topics being discussed by the finalists include brain function, plant conservation, cattle health and forest fire modeling.
WHAT: 3MT® Finals
WHEN: Thursday, March 13, 2 to 4:30 p.m.
WHERE: Science Commons, SA6008
The 10 finalists will present their orations to a panel of judges, after which winners will be declared. Media and the public are invited to attend in person or virtually to view the competition (Click on here to view the live stream.)
