Thursday, October 13, 2022

The University of Lethbridge will welcome graduating students, their families and friends to campus in celebration of academic achievement as Fall 2022 Convocation takes place Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the 1st Choice Savings Centre gymnasium.

A total of 233 graduands will be present at ULethbridge’s first in-person fall ceremony since 2019, including 63 students who are returning from 2020 and 2021 classes that were denied the opportunity to walk the convocation stage due to the pandemic. The public is welcome to join the festivities, either in person or by watching the streaming version at livestream.com/uleth.

Graduands will be assembling in University Hall starting at 8:30 a.m. The academic procession from University Hall to the 1st Choice Savings Centre begins at 9:50 a.m. Media are welcome to interview graduands between 8:45 and 9:15 a.m. in University Hall’s sixth floor hallway or following the ceremony. Media are also invited to attend the ceremony, which includes the bestowing of an honorary degree to Nancy Southern, presentation of the Distinguished Alumni Award to Dr. Dennis Sumara (BA & BEd ’80, MEd ’90), as well as the celebration of Excellence in Teaching Award winner Dr. Sean Fitzpatrick and Board of Governors Teaching Chair Dr. Leanne Elias (BFA ’95, MEd ’03).

ULethbridge will also recognize Chancellor Charles Weasel Head as he presides over the final convocation ceremony of his term as chancellor.
