Shakespeare Meets Dickens - Lethbridge Shakespeare Performance Society

 "Shakespeare Meets Dickens" is a fundraising event, for the Lethbridge Shakespeare Performing Society, that will take place on December 16th (only) at 7:00 p.m. in the CASA Community Room (230 - 8th Street South).  Tickets are $15/each or 2 for $25 (available at CASA)

Details:  A Tudor/Victorian Christmas Celebration, including performances of "A Christmas Carol" and Scenes & Songs from Shakespeare.   Tasty Tudor treats (mulled wine, mincepies, eggnog and gingerbread) will be available.  Audience members are encouraged to dress in Tudor or Victorian style!

ARRTI Speaker Series - Dr. Joseph Ross

The Alberta RNA Research and Training Institute presents Dr. Joseph Ross, a new postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Nehal Thakor. His talk is titled "Host-imposed regulation of bacterial transposition." The ARRTI Speaker Series is open to the public and was established to bring leading researchers to the University of Lethbridge for lectures on a broad range of topics relating to RNA research. ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN NOW - Ivan Townshend Speaks November 28th at 6:15pm in L1060

The Privatization of Neighbourhoods and Emerging Social Ecology of Cities.

Using Calgary as an example, this talk will present a conceptual overview of new forms of neighbourhood privatization and design since the 1970s, and ways in which these represent multiple levels of nesting of privatization schemes through Common Interest Developments (CIDs).  A graphic model is developed to summarize the effects on the social ecology of the city and the potential for the partitioning of the city into new public and private urban realms.

ART NOW - Robert Del Tredici Speaks November 21st, 2016 at Noon in the Recital Hall

Robert Del Tredici is a photographer and artist who has been teaching cinema history and the art of animated film at Concordia University in Montreal since the early 1970s. He has also been documenting the nuclear age since 1979. His first book, The People of Three Mile Island, covered America’s worst nuclear accident. His next book, At Work in the Fields of the Bomb, documented the US nuclear weapons complex. In 1987, he founded the Atomic Photographers Guild.
