Latest Kevin Winner Believes in Equal Opportunity

The SOS Committee’s most recent Kevin draw took place a couple of weeks ago, from donors who have renewed pledges since this past fall. Karen Rowles, an instructor in the NESA BN Programs in the Faculty of Health Sciences, was the lucky winner! We held a brief Q&A session with Karen…

How long have you been working at the U of L?  Since 2009

Where were you prior to the U of L? – I was at Lethbridge College from 2007-2009, and with Alberta Health Services (AHS) from 1991-2007.

What drives you to support the SOS campaign? – Equal opportunity for all. Finances should not be an obstacle to post-secondary education. I benefitted greatly from scholarships and the least I can do is give back in some small way.

Describe what you do (in a nutshell) – I facilitate student learning in medical/surgical nursing concepts, both in the classroom and in clinical environments, for the NESA BN programs in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

What do you like to do in your spare time? – Live the ranch life

Thank you to Karen, and all SOS campaign donors, for their involvement. You, too, can become an SOS donor and a potential Kevin winner – no amount is too small! Go to https://www.uleth.ca/bridge/sos to log in and donate by payroll deduction – and remember, 100% of your donation goes wherever YOU direct it!
