Produce advanced creative works for the Web using emerging web graphics technologies, including HTML5 Canvas, SVGs, WebGL, animation libraries, and more! This course is designed for students to explore the intersection of the Web with various media types, integrating 3D graphics, interactive film, animation, audio, graphic design, and/or illustration into web-based user experiences.

Prerequisite: NMED 3520 and NMED 3380

Offered every second year, this is your chance to take Character Animation II with Daniela Sirbu. 

  • Learn how expressive motion for animation is based on the relationship between character design, character motion, and character acting.
  • Maker your own short animation film.

Fine Arts @ Fifty

An eclectic exhibition, Fine Arts @ Fifty, uses a combination of videos, images, artworks, historic photos, displays and documents to celebrate the history, milestones and endeavours of the University of Lethbridge Faculty of Fine Arts and its four departments – Art, Drama, Music, and New Media. Introducing the New Cinema Subject Designation

Beginning Fall 2017, the Department of New Media will be offering a new subject designation for its existing moving image courses: Cinema. These courses will be listed in the calendar and the timetable with the subject code CINE, instead of NMED.

All of these existing courses will remain the same, with one significant exception: DRAMA 3030 (Introduction to Film Studies) will now be offered as CINE 1000. This offering will be an introductory course leading to further studies in Cinema if desired.
