The Alberta RNA Research and Training Institute (ARRTI) presents the ARRTI Speaker Series, a monthly lecture series open to the public and established to bring leading researchers to the University of Lethbridge for lectures on a broad range of topics relating to RNA research.

Dr. Martin Holcik

Dr. Schultz will discuss how the products of the FORKED gene family and the UNHINGED gene act within cells to influence developing tissue in plants.

Dr. Boraston to speak about the degradation of polysaccharides by microbes from the human gut microbiome and Dr. Smith to speak about gene deregulation by oncogenic transcription factors.

Brenda Milner Lecture Series: A Public Talk by Dr. Freda Miller

Dr. Foroud discusses trichothecenes, inhibitors of protein synthesis.

The Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD) is a Center of Excellence on drug development and commercialization located at Vancouver. UofL is an affiliated academic institution.

CDRD specialized interest areas include studies relevant to therapeutics and diagnostics in oncology, immunology/immunotherapy, infectious disease, regenerative medicine/fibrosis, neuroscience (particularly neurodegeneration and multiple sclerosis) and metabolic disease.

Dr. Guy is a colleague of Dr. Stewart Rood, Department of Biological Sciences. He will be on campus for an MSc defence, and has agreed to present to interested students, faculty and the University Community.
