EndNote Part 1: Basics Workshop

EndNote is citation management software which can help you manage, organize and use your research literature. It integrates with Microsoft Word (and selected other word processing software) so that you can "cite-while-you-write" using your choice of citation styles. EndNote is available for both Windows and Mac computers. We will be using the latest version in the Windows/PC environment with Microsoft Word.

Digging into Open Data: Canada’s Open Government Portals

Open data is a growing movement where organizations, especially government, release data – much of which is location data — to the public free of charge through open government portals. Users can visit these websites to search for and download relevant datasets which are then typically imported into a software application for analysis. Librarian Rhys Stevens will provide guidance about how to find and make use of open data using examples from several Canadian portals.

Library Headcounts | October 17 to 23

From Sunday, October 17 to Saturday, October 23, student assistants (you may see them with clipboards) will be performing headcounts in the Library. The counts are to determine how many people are in the Library spaces and computer resources in use during the designated count times. No other information is being collected.

Library's Thanksgiving Weekend Hours | October 9–11

The Library’s hours of operation during the Thanksgiving weekend are as follows:

  • Saturday, Oct. 9: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 10: 1 – 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 11: CLOSED

The Library’s 24-hour study space will be available during the unstaffed hours of operation.
