Annual Campus Fire Safety Inspections

The City of Lethbridge Fire Department (LFD) in collaboration with Safety Services will be conducting inspections of the University campus on December 5, 6, and 7, 2023. Under the Alberta Safety Codes Act, the Fire Department has the authority to complete an inspection of all areas of the University campus and address any safety concerns and infractions of the Alberta Fire Code. IMPORTANT NOTICE - Concrete Coring University Hall

Please be advised that on Thursday, Nov. 16, concrete coring will be taking place within University Hall. Noise will be generated periodically as work proceeds in various locations. Each core is anticipated to be no more than five minutes each. It is possible that additional work will be required on Friday, Nov. 17.

Respirator fit testing for employees and students

From November 20-24, Safety Services will be conducting respirator fit testing for employees and students. This will cover N95 masks, half-face and full-face respirator masks, and SCBA’s. If you require a respirator for your position, or while working within your lab please contact your supervisor.

Supervisors or researchers with students who require a fit test and have not registered, should reach out to safety.services@uleth.ca to arrange for testing.

Holiday Closure Notice

Dear Colleagues,
Every year it seems that time moves more quickly and that is certainly the case again this year as the holiday season is fast approaching. We all look forward to spending time with family and friends during the holiday season and enjoying all that the festive season offers.

The University will not be open during the holiday season from Monday, December 25, 2023 to Monday, January 1, 2024 inclusive, with recognition and appreciation of those who will be working at some time during the holiday period. The University will reopen on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
