Research Expertise:
My primary research interests are in the area of physical activity and aging in which I apply a health promotion perspective to the participation of physical activity among older adults. I have a particular interest in physical activity participation among older adults in rural settings. More specifically, I am interested in the contextual and psychosocial factors that influence the sedentary behaviour and physical activity participation of older adults throughout the lifecourse. Theoretically, my research is driven by an ecological approach that conceptualizes physical activity as being influenced by the interaction of environmental settings and biological and psychological factors.
