Soccer players earn weekly honours

A pair of Pronghorn soccer players have picked up the Subway Pronghorn Athletes of the Week awards for the week ending Sept. 16.

Morgan Brownjohn earned the men's honour after helping the Horns to a weekend sweep of the University of Calgary Dinos. Brownjohn scored both game-winning goals, including a penalty kick in the 1-0 Saturday afternoon victory and the first goal of the game in Sunday's 2-0 triumph.

On the women's side, Kim Shellenberg's strong defensive presence led the Horns women's team to a split of their weekend contests. Shellenberg was a key component in the Horns shutting down Mount Royal Cougars Saturday afternoon as the U of L earned a 1-0 victory. The win was the first of the season for the club.
