The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns handed out their Male and Female Athlete of the Week awards on Tuesday, with Justin Latrace and Janelle Groten earning the honours respectively.

Latrace, from the Horns men's soccer program, stepped into the starting lineup and was especially effective in a weekend series against University of Calgary Dinos. A solid defender, Latrace made a number of solid plays on the back line. The Horns dropped 1-0 and 2-0 decisions to Calgary.

Groten plays for the women's soccer program. She created numerous scoring opportunities during a weekend home-and-home series against the Dinos.

In the two losses (1-0 and 3-0) to the Dinos she registered five shots on net. She currently leads the Horns with two goals on the year.

Pronghorns Athletics takes a break this weekend for the Thanksgiving holiday. The following weekend sees the Horns men's and women's hockey teams open their Canada West regular seasons with home-and-home series against University of Calgary. The men play at home Friday night with the women at home on Saturday.
