ART NOW - Don Gill Speaks November 24th, 2014 at Noon

“My work is concerned with travel, tourism, and the processes of history. Perhaps growing up in rural/urban western Canada instilled an idea of “frontier in reverse,” an exploration for the headwaters of population flow. I am strongly interested in the idea of “Place” as well, what it is that makes a community distinctive. I am also interested in that which links seemingly unconnected places, the discovery of these connections is always illuminating.

ART NOW - Jean-Francois Prost Speaks November 19th, 2014 at Noon

JEAN-FRANÇOIS PROST, artist who has studied architecture and environmental design; he has a keen interest in new urban research territories – neglected, undetermined spaces (and situations), and those overcontrolled, sterile, with no apparent specificity. In Prost's work, art is an act of resistance, a state of mind, a device to enunciate and exchange ideas. It activates and promotes social engagement, defends the presence of art everywhere and at anytime.
