Darcy Logan is a multi-disciplinary artist who works in media as diverse as painting, printmaking, performance, and video. Exhibiting under the anonym Frater Tham, he is interested in exploring myth, folklore, and fringe-epistemology as a tool to investigate & recontexualize the conventions of personal and cultural knowledge.

Artists’ Voices

Yvonne Lammerich and Ian Carr-Harris will discuss their recent project Voices: artists on art opening at the SAAG on February 17.

Dr. Joanne Stober is Historian of War and Visual Culture at the Canadian War Museum. She is a photography and film historian, and is an adjunct professor at Carleton University’s School for Studies in Art and Culture. Her doctorate is in Communications and Media Studies from Concordia University in Montréal. 

Stober will be speaking while in Alberta for the opening of the traveling exhibition Witness: Canadian Art of the First World War at the Military Museums in Calgary (exhibition opens February 7th at 6pm)

WSSS presents Annihilation Event with Louisa Minkin, an artist who leads an interdisciplinary research team in London.

A screening of the Best of GIRAF 13! GIRAF, or Giant Incandescent Resonating Animation Festival , is an annual animation festival that runs each November at the Globe Cinema in Calgary, Alberta.

The Art Now class will be going to the Trianon Gallery for a walkthrough with artist Julie Duschenes of her current exhibition.  This is open to the public and all are welcome!

This touring exhibition features McMaster’s newest body of work and selections from earlier series.
