University Library: Services Update; June 10, 2020

The University Library has been working to support the needs of the University Community since the closing of the physical facility on March 17. Click here to browse our catalogue of online support services.

At present, post-secondary libraries are not included in Stage 2 of Alberta’s Relaunch Strategy. We continue to plan and will provide updates related to the provision of services (collection access, spaces, etc.) once they have been determined.

Condolence Notice — Dr. Henry Bergen (LLD ’08)

The University of Lethbridge sends heartfelt condolences to the friends and family of Dr. Henry Bergen (LLD ’08), who passed away on Sunday, June 7 after a lengthy illness.

Bergen was a member of the U of L Senate from 2004 to 2007 and received an honorary degree in 2008. An immigrant to Canada from Germany, Bergen worked as a technologist at the Agriculture Canada Research Station. He also developed equipment that allowed scientists to increase their research effectiveness. He became an important part of the research program and was co-author on eight scientific papers.

Condolence Notice — Van Bang Duong

The University of Lethbridge extends its sincere condolences to the friends and family of Van Bang Duong, who passed away on Sunday, May 31.

Duong was a former employee who started at the University in 1988 as a data control clerk and, in 1991, he became a programmer analyst. From 2001 until 2009, Duong served the University as a systems support specialist in Information Technology Services.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, June 8 in Calgary. An obituary is available online.
