Trip Overview

Since 1998, the U of L Faculty of Fine Arts has offered students a journey of enlightenment and discovery - a chance to explore the art treasures of Europe with an art historian as your tour guide. In 2015, the trip will take place in Venice, Italy.

Trip dates: June 17 - 28, 2015

This 3-credit course is open to students from all areas of study, as well as non-students. The course consists of a series of excursions, lectures and walking tours, exploring the art and culture of Venice, with a particular focus on the Venice "Biennale," which is widely regarded to be the most important exhibition of contemporary art in the world.

Your Instructor

David Coman studied art history at McGill University and The University of Toronto and since 1998 has taught in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lethbridge, Calgary campus.

His area of expertise is early 19th-century painting and graphic arts in France and Britain. David has led the U of L study tours to Europe from 1999 to the present.
