University mourns passing of honorary degree recipient

The University of Lethbridge community extends its most sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the late Dr. Archibald Stalker, a noted geology researcher and U of L Honorary Degree recipient (1984) who passed away recently in Ottawa at age 86.

Stalker specialized in studying the glacial geology of western Canada, in particular southern Alberta. Among other discoveries, he was instrumental in finding and interpreting a large field of mammal fossil beds near Medicine Hat, and locating and mapping several buried valleys in western Canada.
