Sex, Drugs, Rock 'n' Roll

No topic is off-limits at the University of Lethbridge this week as Sex, Drugs, Rock 'n' Roll awareness week takes over campus.

Presented by the University of Lethbridge Students' Union (ULSU), the week's activities bring a variety of exciting and informative events to campus, including guest speaker Dan Savage and three live bands.

"This week is about celebrating sexuality and sexual diversity as well as bringing students' attention to the dangers of ignorance of sexual health and drug or alcohol abuse," says Jenn Prosser, ULSU VP Academic and Sex, Drugs, Rock 'n' Roll awareness week organizer.
"The events for the week highlight each of the themes (sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll) and are meant to stimulate discourse on aspects of life that university students experience."

All week there will be an interactive display in the University Atrium to increase sexual health awareness. There will also be several displays around campus to promote awareness of the consequences of alcohol abuse.

Following are the week's major events:

Speaker Dan Savage – Savage Love Live, 7 p.m. in PE250, open to community members

Boldly covering everything and anything related to sex and relationships, Dan Savage answers questions about virginity, orgasms, monogamy and more. Dan Savage creates a space for all students to honestly discuss "taboo" topics.

Screening of Neil Young documentary Rust Never Sleeps, 6 p.m. in L1060, open to community members

Speaker Jim Hilsenteger – The unintended consequences of the war on drugs, 12 p.m. in the Atrium, open to community members
