Open House a hit with students, parents alike

The University of Lethbridge welcomed over 1,000 students, family and friends to the third annual prospective student Open House on Saturday, Nov. 5.

Guests spent the day touring the campus, visiting faculty and student service booths, listening to presentations and speaking with faculty and student representatives as they learned about all of the unique opportunities available at the U of L.

Attendance was at an all-time high for this event.

The introduction of new technologies used by the Registrar's Office and Housing Services allowed students to obtain a student ID, apply for admission, receive an offer of admission, accept their offer and apply for Housing. All of these services were provided immediately, on-the-spot.

Response from students and parents was very positive and tracked on Twitter, which was very active throughout the day. One student tweeted, "I'm officially accepted to #uleth considering a double major. Lots to do before 2012! #futureplans."

"What an emotional day. #uleth #ACCEPTED," wrote another prospective student on Twitter. "Whole family reppin' U of L merchandise…#wearetoocool."

A huge thank you to all of the faculty, staff and student volunteers who came together on a Saturday to help make this event an enormous success.
