If you haven't had an opportunity to talk to University of Lethbridge president Dr. Mike Mahon, Saturday's Whoop-Up Days celebrations might just be the perfect forum. Not only can you meet the new president, but you can also help support Volunteer Lethbridge by dropping Mahon in the dunk tank.
Volunteer Lethbridge's first ever Dunk Tank for Volunteerism is at the Lethbridge Exhibition grounds throughout Whoop-Up Days, culminating with a special extended day of dunking on Saturday, Aug. 28.
Mahon was quick to dive into the project and offered to scale the platform in support of volunteerism from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday. He'll be joined by University of Lethbridge Students' Union president Taz Kassam (a Project Paintbrush volunteer) as they show off the U of L's volunteer spirit.
Weather permitting, the dunk tank will take place each day throughout the week, beginning Tuesday, Aug. 24 and wrapping up Saturday, Aug. 28. The tank is open from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily and from 1 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
