Library Level 9 Wall Remediation

Please be advised that a wall on level 9 south in the Library (near the south east elevator) requires repair. A plastic barrier will be placed in the immediate area and there may be some associated noise with the work.

If you are looking for a quiet space to study in the Library, the best area may be on level 11 north or in the Curriculum Laboratory (level 11 south in the Library).

Coulee Trail Construction

Work to install the pedestrian bridge that links the Science and Academic Building to the upper campus will be ongoing throughout the month of August. Traffic using Coulee Trail may see some minor delays and will be diverted around small portions of the roadway as the work proceeds. Traffic control measures will be in effect and flagppersons will be utilized as necessary to ensure traffic flows safely around the construction site.

University Archives/Special Collections Renovation: July–August 2017

The University Archives (L1172) will be undergoing a renovation to expand its current space and install enhanced fire suppression systems to preserve the archives and collections. The work is expected to begin in early-July and continue through August. There may be some intermittent noise associated with this activity during this time.

Records Management & Writing Centre: On the Move in the Library

Please be advised that Records Management and the Writing Centre will be relocating to different spaces in the Library after Wednesday, June 28.

Library Construction & Service Disruption | May 29 – late-August

Beginning Monday, May 29, the Library will begin preparation for installation of compact shelving on level 9 north.
 
Please be aware of the following impacts:
 
MAIN COLLECTION ACCESS | Call Numbers NB to QR
 
The collection on level 9 north will not be accessible by patrons. Patrons can request materials from this area by submitting requested call numbers to the General Services Desk in person or by emailing the request to gsd.library@uleth.ca. Requests will be retrieved within 24-hours of submission.

University Hall Stair Safety Upgrade: Stairwell B Closure

Please be informed Stairwell B in University Hall will be closed for construction on May 23 to July 31, 2017. It will reopen at 7:00AM on August 1, 2017. Use alternate routes such as elevator B, Stairwell A or Stairwell C during this closure.

 

Please obey all safety and rerouting signage in this area for all floor levels 4 thru 8. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Aaron Benson – Project Manager.

South Valley Storm System Repairs

South Valley Storm System Repairs:

Contractors are scheduled from May 23 to August 31 to repair storm pipe in the University south valley, located south of the Library/ UCA/ University Hall buildings. Work will involve heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, packers and dump trucks which may produce vibrations, noise and dusty conditions. Appropriate measures are being implemented to minimize disruptions to building occupants.

 

Please obey barricades, signage and detours for your safety and the safety of the workers.
