Fragments of the University of Lethbridge's History: The Campus and Academic Plans Evolve | Apr. 29

Founding Philosophy, Founding Faculty.

The University of Lethbridge commenced on January 1,1967 and quickly established itself as an experimental institution. Why did it choose to focus on becoming a liberal university? Who were the founding faculty and administrators who championed this philosophy? They arrived from all over the world — some saw service in wars, others were escaping them, and still others saw an opportunity for something special and unique here.

This talk will focus on the guiding institutional philosophy and the early faculty.
