Suzy Lake was born in Detroit and immigrated to Canada in 1968, following the 1967 Detroit riots, settling in Montreal. Influenced by social and political involvement concurrent with the early Conceptual period, she is known for her large-scale photography, dealing with the body as both subject and device. Lake was one of a pioneering group of artists in the early ‘70s who adopted performance, video and photography in order to explore the politics of gender, the body and identity.

Emmy Award Winning Make-up Artist Gail Kennedy discusses her work in various motion picture films, television and theatre. Her team recently won a Hollywood Makeup Guild Award for their work in the miniseries Fargo.
