The past year has given us many extraordinary circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the way we honour members of our immediate and extended University community when they have passed away. Typically, the University posts a condolence notice and lowers the flag on the day of their memorial service. This year, as restrictions on gatherings were put into place, funeral services were often put off to a future date or not held at all.

IMPORTANT NOTICE – Asbestos Removal within University Hall Level 7

ASBESTOS REMOVAL - University Hall Level 7, Section D

Please be advised that November 23-25, asbestos removal will be conducted in University Hall level 7, section D. Work is within vacated areas only and will not be a disruption to normal operations.

Please be advised that there will be contractors working in University Hall Levels 7 and 8, sections C, D and E starting November 23, 2020, as a part of the UH Wet Labs Decommissioning project.

A large portion of the work will be happening in closed spaces, however there will be work happening in public corridors as well that may require temporary shutdowns to local areas. Notifications will be provided for shutdowns and areas will be secured to ensure the safety of all.
